Dots and Boxes
ClassicsChildren
Game rules
Two players, taking turns, on a board of six by six dots. Twenty-five boxes fit in between.
How to play
- Draw a line. Tap between two dots that are next to or above/below each other. Diagonal lines don't exist.
- Close a box. Whoever draws the fourth side gets the box in their colour and a point.
- You go again. After closing a box, it's still your turn. If you don't close anything, it's the other player's turn.
- Fill the whole board. The game ends when all the boxes have been claimed.
Good to know
- One line can close two boxes at once. That earns you two points and you still get another turn.
- Watch out for the third side of a box: that gives the box away to whoever gets there first.
- The background colour shows whose turn it is.
- There are no lives, no levels, no clock and no hints.
- The twenty-five boxes together make up the final score, so a draw isn't possible.
