Game rules
A hundred levels, each with its own track. A short track you drive around six times, a long one four times; the type is shown at the top of the screen. There's no steering: your car stays in its own slot. The only thing you do is accelerate and let go.
How to play
- Hold the screen to accelerate. It doesn't matter where you press.
- Let go before a bend. The red-and-white kerbs are placed exactly at the bends you shouldn't take at full speed.
- Watch for the flames. Sparks behind your car mean: you're going very fast, let go before the next bend.
- Press again after the bend. That rhythm is the whole game.
If it goes wrong
Take a bend too fast and your car flies off on the outside, explodes in a cloud of smoke, and returns to its own slot after about two seconds. You don't lose a lap and nothing is deducted - only time. Meanwhile, your opponent keeps driving.
Good to know
- The two cars drive in separate slots and can't touch each other.
- Red drives in the outer slot, blue in the inner one.
- On the second-to-last lap, a brief message appears announcing your final lap; the game just continues.
- Whoever completes all the laps first wins immediately. There's no draw and no extra time.
- Exactly halfway through, both cars swap slots, so you've driven on both tracks.
- Beat the computer and you move on to the next level. Lose and you're out.
